Z.A.A.P Names its Featured Artist of the Month

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Z.A.A.P Gallery has announced its Artist of the Month for June. 

Z.A.A.P member and artist Leah Weaver was born in Albany, Georgia. She attended Darton College where she studied art. She describes her art as an emotionalism style

“Which kind of fits this last year because 2020 was quite the ride and my emotions kind of came out in my various paintings as I went through things. I mean, I came out okay but we all had problems,” Z.A.A.P Artist of the Month Leah Weaver said.

Weaver said she hopes her artwork will make others ‘feel something.’ She is excited to share her art work tomorrow at the First Friday Art Walk, especially her “Sea” painting.

“The ocean just moves me, it has such energy to it, which sounds kind of weird but getting out in nature really helps you,” Weaver said.

You can find Leah’s art as well as other artists’ work in downtown Zanesville tomorrow during the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
