Plane crash in Fairfield County

Liberty Township – The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash in Fairfield County.
It happened Wednesday around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of SR256 and SR37 in Liberty Township.
Authroties said Matthew Leupp was operating a single engine, two seat Aeronca 11AC aircraft when the plane struck a storage building upon landing in an air strip close by.
Authorities said Leupp suffered rib injuries and his passenger, Michael Bollinger, was transported to Mount Carmel East with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers from the Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol, along with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, and Basil fire and EMS all responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. The FAA responded to the scene and is now conducting an investigation.
