A Zanesville First: La Cabra Craft Tacos Prepares for Monday Grand Opening
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Zanesville locals may be familiar with The Smiling Goat Saloon. Back on January 31st, the owners closed The Smiling Goat Saloon for their plans to open La Cabra Craft Tacos in the same location this upcoming Monday; August 9th, to better suit their lifestyles as they enter a new stage in their lives.
If the new name sounds similar, it’s because “La Cabra” means “The Goat” in Spanish as an ode to their beloved former establishment. The new restaurant is a modern family-friendly take on fast casual dining with an uncompromising commitment to freshness.
“The first thing I would say that anyone walking through our doors is going to expect is fresh. Every ingredient is fresh. We make everything in house from the mayonnaise, to the dressings, to the salsas. Everything is made right here. There are no processed foods which is really important for us,” Darren Tigner, co-owner of La Cabra Craft Tacos stated.
The menu offers a tasty selection of specialty tacos, build your own tacos, nachos, starters, taco salads, and sweet desserts… all at a decent price point. Most tacos range from $3-6 with the option of a three mini taco sampler for only $8. La Cabra is excited to be a first-of-its-kind craft taco business in Zanesville, and providing quality food and service in an environment equally as high-class but budget friendly.
“I think it’s an opportunity for our community to have access to something that they don’t already have here locally. As it is right now, people have to travel 20/30/45 minutes to Newark, Columbus, whatever it is to get to try different kinds of things. And know they can just drive down the road or a few minutes, and either have a cool dining experience or an awesome takeout experience and go home and eat,” Kristy Tigner, co-owner of La Cabra Craft Tacos stated.
La Cabra Craft Tacos is opening Monday, August 9th at 11AM. Their hours of operation are 11AM-10PM Monday-Thursday, 11AM-11PM Friday and Saturday, and brunch on Sundays from 10AM-2PM. They’ll have exclusive specials daily like: Margarita Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, Feria Taco Wednesdays, and Couples’ Therapy Thursdays. On the patio you’ll be able to find games for children and adults alike like giant Jenga and giant Connect Four.
