Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week: Georgie!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Allow me to introduce you to the Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week: Georgie. She is only 6 months old and a plott hound mix. She came in with a few of her siblings who have since been adopted, and she is hoping she too will be adopted and be able to join a family of her own.
She’s a timid high energy ball of fun. Her personality and demeanor is perfect for kids to play with and love on.
“She would do great with kids. She’d love to be outside, she’s very sweet. Like I said, very shy as you can tell. But once you get to know her, she’s a lover. She loves to give hugs and kisses,” Rebecca Hunt, animal care manager at the Animal Shelter Society stated.
She plays well with other dogs and cats, and being a young pup and full of energy, the animal shelter thinks a family lifestyle would suit her best.
“Again, I think kids would be a good thing for her. They could exercise her, wear her out. A fenced in yard would be a positive. That way she go out and kind of just run. I think she would like to just go on hikes, get out to the parks, and potentially maybe even swim. She does like the water,” Hunt said.
They hope to give Georgie to a family as soon as possible. Georgie, like every canine at the Animal Shelter Society, is adoption ready, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. To adopt Georgie you can fill out the application under the adoption tab on the animal shelter’s website.
