The Little Muskies goaltender “Bean” Sowers made 11 saves off 14 shots. Goalkeeper Anna Bennet made 2 saves off six shots and Lily Cochran made 1 save off 1 shot. John Glenn will travel to Coshocton Thursday.

Newark scored 2 goals in the first half and added another 2 in the second to win 4-1. Zoey Milton netted a hat-trick and Pippy Brown added a goal as well.

The Black Bears used three sets to defeat the Panthers 25-9, 25-18, 25-11. River View’s Ashley Newell tallied 15 kills and 5 blocks. Kayla Dulgar had 4 kills and 26 assists. Cayla Shrimplin added 7 aces and 13 digs. Adison Smith had 6 aces. Alivia Spualding had 5 kills. Maysville was led on the day by Izzy Hutchison with 1 ace, 2 blocks and 9 digs. Mallori Bradley had 2 digs and 2 kills and Hanah Fulkerson had 2 aces, 1 block, 1 assist and 3 digs.

The Wildcats came away with the three set win 17-25, 9-25, 19-25. Newark senior Gabby Wolfe had 7 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks. Junior Jenna Schackleford added 4 kills, 5 aces and 3 blocks. Jaylen Jackson had 4 kills 8 digs and 2 blocks. Avery Reagan had 7 kills.

The Tornadoes won the match 25-12, 25-8, 25-17. Rebecca Strunk had 13 kills and two blocks. Camryn Welch had 12 kills and 1 block. Sydney McWhorter had 10 kills. The Tornadoes take on John Glenn Tuesday starting with freshman at 5:45pm. It will be senior night for Kinley Dodson, Sydney McWhorter and Kyler Moore.

Sheridan defeated Licking Valley 9-25, 17-25, 22-25. The Panthers were led by Cassie Orr with 2 blocks, 7 kills and 2 aces. Emily Bone had 25 assists, 3 aces and 13 digs. Bree Creech had 6 kills and Rylee Sensabaugh added 5 kills.
MEADOWBROOK: 4 HUDSON: 1
The Colts defeated Hudson 24-26, 25-19, 25-23, 27-25. They improve to 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the MVL.
COSHOCTON 3 CAMBRIDGE: 0
The Redskins defeated the Bobcats 14-25, 11-25, 17-25.
CROSS COUNTRY:
Over 800 racers took part in this year’s Colt Carnival Cross Country meet at Meadowbrook. In the high school boys division Sheridan took second place just behind Utica. River View was in third. Cambridge was 12th and Meadowbrook 15th. Morgan finished 21st.
Individual finishers include John Skinner for Sheridan who finished 9th with a time of 18:15:82. Javin Robinson from River View finished second overall with a time of 17:26: 15. Cambridge’s Wes Phillips was 36th with a time of 19:33:31. The Colts Kendell West was third overall with a time of 17:32:65. Morgan’s Cody Young finished the day 84th with a time of 21:07:54.
The Sheridan girls cross country team came away in the number one spot. John Glenn was second. New Lexington ended in the 6th spot. Meadowbrook was 8th, while Tri-Valley was 11th. Philo was 12th and River View 16th.
Leading the way for the Generals was Katelyn Heath who finished second overall with a time of 21:30:07. Teammate Addison Smith was 4th overall with a time of 22:00:07. John Glenn’s Brea Wilfong ended the race in the 8th spot at 22:38:07. New Lexington’s Emma Abrams was first in the race with a time of 20:24:12. Taylor Forbes for Meadowbrook finished the race in the 31st spot with a time of 23:44:57. Tri-Valley’s Taylor Crozier finished her day in the 15th spot. Philo’s Darby Henderson was in the 40th position. Shyann Rahn from River View finished in 53rd place.
