30th Annual Chalk on the Walk at Larry Miller Intermediate School

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- Valuing the love for art, East Muskingum held their 30th annual Chalk on the Walk event today at the Larry Miller Intermediate School.
The event consisted of kindergartners up to eight-grade students, entertainment and awards for best artwork. Annette Calendine, Principal of Perry Elementary explained the process of the event.
“Today they have 45 minutes to draw any picture they’d like in their square that the high school students put on the sidewalk and then we have three judges from the community,” Calendine said. “They go around and they pick a first and second place prize along with some honorable mentions and we have entertainment coming later so it’s a really fun-filled morning for our students.”
Robyn Morrow, the Principal of Pike Elementary talked about the positive outcome and how everyone comes together every year.
“It’s a complete team effort throughout our district. We had help from all of our administrators. K-8 students are involved and our District Secretary Wanda Reed was a huge help in the organizational process,” Morrow said.
This year there were 160 participants and many students came out to show off their creative drawings.
