The Chamber of Commerce Prepares for Their 29th Annual Festival of Trees

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s never too early to decorate or get into the Christmas spirit. The Chamber of Commerce invites the community to participate in their popular holiday event, Festival of Trees.
This is the 29th annual event that allows local businesses to decorate holiday items that may include incentives, says Dana Matz, the President of Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s event will be held virtually.
“We were virtual last year and we’ll be virtual again this year,” Matz said. “So we’ll spread out the entry deliveries as we’ve done so folks wanting to have an entry for the festival trees they can go to our website, zmchamber.com and click on events and they can fill out their paperwork, if you will, electronically and that way we’ll know if they have an entry.”
Matz stated once that’s completed, they will begin accepting the entries the week of thanksgiving and take photos and videos so people can go online for the virtual tour.
All of the proceeds will be going to the Chamber member services, but Matz talks about how this really supports the businesses also.
“We’ll have four to six entries each 15 minutes where the auctioneers will be talking about those. People will be calling in their bids so it gets a little competitive and you see some businesses competing against each other, you see other businesses supporting maybe contractors that they use and vice versa. So it’s a good day.”
The event will be on December 3rd from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. If you are needing decoration supplies, please contact the Chamber of Commerce and they can provide the items you need. For more information, please visit the website at zmchamber.com.
