MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- Residents can receive financial heating assistance this upcoming winter season with the Muskingum Community Action Agency.

The Winter Crisis program is all income based and residents have to be 175 percent below the federal poverty guideline in order to be eligible.

“We can help anybody that needs propane fuel oil, if their services have been disconnected or are in disconnect status. We can help with furnace repairs for homeowners,” said Jamie Waller, HEAP Coordinator at the Community Action Agency.

Community Action is able to help clients pay up to $900 on propane fuel oil for one time payment and up to $500 on a furnace repair if the client owns their home.

“Right now with the COVID going on and a lot of people not working, if they are Columbia Gas and AEP customers, they can enroll in the PIPP program and that would definitely help them worry about other things going on in their home at that time,” Waller stated.

To apply for the Winter Crisis program, you would have to make an appointment by phone at 740-302-8404. Residents will be given a time and a date, and would have to bring in the documentation needed.
