Art COZ Holiday Art Festival at the Welcome Center

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Holiday Art Festival by the Artist Colony of Zanesville is being held today at the Welcome Center.
There are a bunch of different business vendors in attendance that consisted of wood carvings, paintings, soaps and more.
One of the vendors, Madeline Mason-Maier, Owner and Design of Marto, shared how her business is named after her grandmother who was a fashion designer. She says that all of her jewelry pieces are made with repurposed elements.
“So a lot of times people will give me things that they haven’t warn in awhile or I’ll go through my own closet and I’ll take it a part, clean it up and make it into something totally new, but I get really interesting things like real silver pieces, and real turquoise, hematite, just things like that.”
Mason-Maier added that she does have a degree in Fashion Design and has always been very passionate about jewelry, making people feel good with the items she creates.

The event was put together to allow the community and local businesses to gather and support one another. Mason-Maier gives her appreciation to the community and says the support has been amazing.
“I must say Zanesville has one of the most supportive artist community I have ever seen. This town really does believe in art and supporting artist and helping artist make a living as artist so I’ve been really really grateful and really thankful to be involved with Art COZ.”
The Holiday Art Festival will go on until 6:00 p.m. today. There is also performances, food and ornament decorating with the Muskingum County Library System.
