MCLS Provides Consumer Reports Database to Community Residents

The Muskingum County Library System (MCLS) is making it easier for the community when it comes to gift giving this holiday season.

Residents are now able to access the Consumer Reports Database on the library website, which provides pricing information and details on popular, good quality and affordable items and more.

“We want to make sure people are making the most of our resources and the most of their dollar when they do that,” Suzanne Helms, Adult Services Manager with MCLS stated. “They can do research before purchasing it, they also offer gift guides, reviews, recommendations from previous buyers and things like that, much like the magazine does.”

Using the Consumer Reports Database doesn’t always have to be used for just gift giving. Helms said residents can find items for themselves that’s needed around the home, like a washer and dryer.

“So not only does it offer value in people’s lives, it also offers articles to tell them what’s happening, news articles on financial literacy and it enriches people to the point that they don’t have to spend the money on it, we’ve done it for them,” Helms said.

To access the Consumer Reports Database, please go to muskingumlibrary.org under the research tab where the research databases will be located and you’ll be able to scroll and click on Consumer Reports.

Residents will need their library card to access the databases and if you don’t have a library card you can also apply for one on the website.
