MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Zanesville Muskingum County (ZMC) Port Authority held a meeting that discussed the projects that took place within the community.

This year, ZMC Port Authority gave some assistance to companies throughout Muskingum County that led to a $20 million investment in manufacturing, according to Matt Abbott, the Executive Director of Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority.

“Some have been additions, some new companies that have come in, but also investments in human capital and also investments in equipment at their facilities. A lot of job creation around that area. So those are healthy and good signs to see and we hope those things will carry on to 2022,” Abbott stated.

The community has grown economically throughout the course of the year, which can provide more jobs and proper pay for residents, says Abbott.

“The jobs that we work here to try to recruit and the companies that we incentivize are companies that are community oriented, that are paying a decent wage to the people of Muskingum County and surrounding Counties,” Abbott said. “We’ve also developed land this past year and kind of finished up the National Road Business Park, which is a very exciting adventure for us.”

Abbott said this gives ZMC Port Authority things to sell and market within the economic realm. He says Muskingum County’s future is looking very bright. For more information, please visit at zmcport.com.
