Hoopla Digital Expands for Library Users

A digital program offered by the Muskingum County Library is opening up to more digital content.
Hoopla is a digital streaming service for library users to access e-books, audiobooks, music, movies and TV shows. Users can view the content on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. Library users get a limited number of borrows a month, but a new type of borrow allows you access to more content using just one of your borrows.
” Hoopla has a new type of borrow called a binge pass and a binge pass uses one of your Hoopla borrows but it gives you unlimited usage of that special collection of streaming content for 7 days,” said Emerging Technologies Assistant Jazmyn Tabler.
There are two types of binge passes the Great Courses Collection which has 300 courses and thousands of lectures and the magazine binge pass that has more than 50 digital magazines.
“There’s no fines or fees associated with Hoopla everything is instantly returned. They don’t have to do anything extra to do that and everything is instant borrow so they don’t’ have to wait for anything,” explained Tabler.
More types of binge passes are being added next year. To access Hoopla you can visit the Muskingum County Library System’s website and click on the digital downloads link. You can also download the Hoopla App. To access the content you must have a library card and an e-mail address.
