The CARR Center Creates New Changes and Prepares for Annual Cake Auction

Carr Center New Flyers

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The CARR Center is rolling out new changes while also preparing for their annual cake auction.

However, in preparation of the upcoming 36th Annual Cake Auction, which is themed “Our Beeloved Community,” the CARR Center will now include a client from the Adult Daycare program and their story on the back of the new and improved CARR center flyers.

Becky Clawson, Executive Director at the CARR Center, said this way the community can read on how the donations and incentives from the cake auction really helps the clients. Fern is the first client to be featured.

“This year we’ll be taking every opportunity to tell those stories. Whether that’s on our social media or media opportunities so please be on the lookout for that, but Fern’s story is on the back of our new flier and her photo is on the front so be looking for those around the community,” Clawson said.

The CARR center is well known for their cake auction and this year, they are hoping to receive about 350 cakes. Clawson expressed what the auction means for the clients and the community as well.

“The cake auction is the means to an end. The cake auction means that we can be here everyday people like Fern and telling her story is really the whole reason why we exist everyday,” Clawson stated. “Our theme this entire year will be serving our beloved community and telling you how we serve our community with lots of opportunities to be kind and be generous coming up.”

The cake auction will be held on April 27th and the 28th at the Secrest auditorium. Residents can now sign up for the cake auction online at carrcenter.org

Clawson said the mailers for the cake auction should also be out by next month inside the Chamber mailers, which will include a flyer and a sign up form.
