Zanesville Concert Association Cancels Concert Tonight at Secrest Auditorium

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Romeo and Juliet and Carmen, Russian National Ballet, performance will no longer go on tonight at the Secrest Auditorium.
The concert performance that was a part of the Zanesville Concert Association season is canceled and will now be replaced with an Irish dance group.
Jim McLaughlin, the Zanesville Concert Association Booking Agent, said the performers are having issues with getting their equipment and other things for the performance to Zanesville.
“That is canceled because their prompts and their customers are in a ship out in the Atlantic Ocean and so they have canceled their USA tour. That will not happen,” McLaughlin stated. “But we always have a ballot every other year or some sort of dance and so we’re going to reschedule an Irish dance group for March 22nd that will be on our series.”
McLaughlin said with the reschedule of another dance group, residents will still have the five full concerts for the year.
He also talked more about what residents can expect from the Irish dance group.
“March we often think of Irish dancers so it just seemed appropriate and we have world class people in this dance troupe from Ireland and will be with live musicians on stage and a band also. They call it a motley crew band so it sounds like it’s going to be a fun event also,” McLaughlin said.
The other two concerts, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra on February 21st and Raleigh Ringers on March 19th are still set on schedule.
Children aged 18 and younger accompanied by an adult member and college students who show their student ID are free, but McLaughlin encourages residents to purchase the season tickets for $65 at zanesvilleconcertassociation.org, where you can view all updated information and other ticket options. Once making the purchase, the membership card will be sent out to the address indicated.
