MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Eastside Community Ministry 7th Annual Chair-ity Live Auction kicked off today at the Secrest Auditorium.

The online auction has been going on since February 7th received 65 entries and 20 was featured for the live auction.

Jamie Trout, Executive Director for ECM, shared how she was excited to see the high quality that was put into the chairs this year.

“The quality of the entries that have come in this year, just the uniqueness, the thought that people had put behind it just really lets us know how much people support us in this community,” Trout stated.

For the third year in a row, the Ohio Educational Credit Union was voted the best chair for the People’s Choice Award. 

Trout said they will be featured on all of ECM’s advertisements for the Chair-ity Auction next year. 

“We don’t have a budget that we have money coming in everyday so these fundraisers and the community really stepping up to support is vital to the services we provide,” Trout said. “We would not be able to have our food pantry, our free clothing bank or our year round youth program without the charity auction. So, this is going to be a fundraiser that helps us get through 2022, help us to continue to serve the community.”

The live auction was held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. this afternoon and was broadcast on AM 1240 and 102.3 FM. 

During the one hour live auction, Eastside Community Ministry was able to raise $10,075. The online auction,which included 65 items, raised $10,553.66.
