ZANESVILLE, Ohio- We are less than 3 months away from the Zane’s Trace Commemoration! The festival is making a return after 25 years, just in time to celebrate the 250th Founding of the City of Zanesville.

After planning for nearly 2 years, Rick Buck, The President of the Board of the Zane’s Trace Commemoration is excited to announce the festival is underway. Their plan is to pay homage while also celebrating new beginnings for the city.

“Its a festival, but yet its a learning experience too. We want people to know what their heritage of Zanesville is, how it was founded, that this is the 250th year of Zanesville being founded,” says Buck.

While the event has many exciting activities planned for the community, there is a need for volunteers. A member of the Advisory Board for the Commemoration, Bob Greyson, says that help for the event is crucial and that people are invited to come volunteer their time.

Grayson instructed anyone interested in volunteering to, “access our website, sign in there, they would be in contact there with our coordinators to set up our training meetings so they would know what to do next. ”

There has been a great deal of help already, which includes a plethora of sponsors as well as many community members. The mayor of Zanesville, Don Mason, being one of the strongest advocates of the resurfacing of the event.

The festival will be held June 17th-19th,there will be food, a parade, a fishing competition, and much more.
