Honorary Bench to Celebrate Michael ‘Mick’ Amicone

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A brand new bench to honor the life of Michael ‘Mick’ Amicone was unveiled today.
The bench is at Riverside Park, located inside the dog park, and to the right. The bench reads his name followed by one of his many contributions to Zanesville.
Amicone passed last year from cancer, but his legacy and love lives on. Members of Micks family, community members, and even Mayor Mason all paid a visit to celebrate the bench.

Mick’s wife, Harriet Amicone, said that she and her family are very thankful for the community’s contributions. “It’s just one of many beautiful things have happened after his passing. We have been honored and he has been honored in so many different ways and there is still other things yet to come this year that have just overwhelmed me and made me realize that other people saw all the beauty that I saw,” she stated.
His love for sports and children led him to the creation of the Fieldhouse, which served as a community center rallied around sports and love.
Mick loved to entertain, sing, and was very dedicated to his family and those around him.
“He was… the best husband, father, and community man I know, ” his beloved wife let us know.

The bench is a small token to honor the bright light of life ‘Mick’ Amicone.
The family plans to continue to live for Mick, continuing their love and devotion to each other and their work in community.
