2022 Muskingum County Fair Concludes

ZANESVILLE, Oh – Saturday marked the end of another successful fair here in Muskingum County!
There was (mostly) beautiful weather, plenty of iconic fair foods, including elephant ears, corn dogs, Zanesville High School Band Boosters Waffles and Muskingum Cattlemen’s Association Sirloin Steak sandwiches, and most importantly lots of fun!
With events from tractor pulls, harness racing, and a demolition derby to live music and rodeo bull riding, fairgoers were able to come out and have a good time, even getting to use the newly upgraded grandstand.
Muskingum County Fair Vice President Gail Deitrick says all the events at the grandstand were popular, with bull-riding being one of the fan-favorites.
“We have new grandstand seating and it was filled to capacity the last couple of nights at the rough truck, demo derby, and bull riding. And all those seats filled up, they were well attended,” she said.
There were also some new side attractions this year including Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean highwire act and the Wheels of Agriculture Games Show and even some very special guests, including Zanesville Mayor Don Mason and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
Deitrick says attendance was up every night and that they’re already looking forward to next year.
“Next year, we still have some improvements we want to make around the fairgrounds. Always. We always want to keep improving and just keep looking for all those new acts. Filling our stands and filling our north stage and entertainment tent as well,” Dietrick told us.
Next year’s fair will be August 13th through August 19th so be sure to mark your calendars and check the fair’s website https://www.muskingumcofair.com for updates and information about the 2023 Muskingum County Fair!
