Fatal Crash in Fairfield County

At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday morning the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a single vehicle crash that occurred on US-22 just west of Amanda Northern Road, in Fairfield County.

James O. Bigerton, 45 of Carroll, Ohio was traveling westbound in 2007 Honda motorcycle when the patrol says he drove off of the roadway and overturned.

At approximately 6:00 a.m a passerby observed the crash and called 911. The Amanda Fire Department along with a squad arrived on scene, where Mr. Bigerton was pronounced deceased.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says alcohol is suspected to be a factor and Mr. Bigerton was not wearing a helmet.

The crash continues to remain under investigation.
