County Commissioners Hold an Open Bid Meeting for Paving Work in Dresden

The Community Development met with the Muskingum County Commissioners on April 20th to conduct a bid opening.
The bid opening was for paving work in Dresden. There’s an estimated cost of $84,000 for this project, which consists of resurfacing about four tenths of a mile on Allison and Kendra Street.
“It’s a street that is going to benefit folks who are low to moderate income. That’s what the Community Development Block Grant is for, it’s for serving those individuals.” Community Development Director, Kyle Dunn said.
There’s been a total of two bids for the paving project. The two bids were from Dreams Excavating and Paving, who bid approximately $84,000, and Shelly Company, who bid about $94,000.
“The Village of Dresden actually applied to my office once they knew that there was funding available through the state for this project. They sent me pictures of the road and they addressed how much money they had in order to do the projects. It wasn’t sufficient, and the road was in pretty bad shape. So now, we’ll be able to help that community that wouldn’t otherwise be able to get it done.” Dunn said.
The project is expected to be completed before the end of summer.
