Time to Change Smoke Detector Batteries
This is time change weekend in Ohio….And it’s also a good time to change the battery in your smoke detector.
This Sunday at 2 a.m. is the official time clocks are turned back one hour and one of two times a year to change your smoke detector battery.
"It’s just something religious that we preach. It’s a good time every time you change the clocks, change the smoke detector batteries.. It’s a big reminder to let everybody know," said Zanesville Fire Department Lieutenant Doug Hobson.
Lieutenant Dobson says the move is an investment in your life.
" I hope that people take it seriously and actually go out and it costs a little bit of money to get nine volt batteries for your detectors, but a nine volt battery versus your life it’s not worth it, " said Lt. Dobson.
The best way to remember time change weekend is to " Spring Forward and to Fall Back."
