UPDATE: Woman in I-70 Crash in Critical Condition

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Monday morning accident on I-70 closed eastbound traffic and sent one person to the hospital.
24-year-old Brittany Darby of Zanesville was traveling westbound on I-70 in her 2006 GMC Envoy near mile marker 146. Authorities received a call of the accident at 6:34 a.m.
“She got off onto the right side of the roadway, on the rumble strips,†said Trooper Wes Archer with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. “She overcorrected and went into the median on the left side. That’s when her vehicle struck the median and it overturned at least two times, maybe three.â€
Darby was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Genesis and then transferred to Grant Hospital in Columbus. Darby remains there in critical condition. The accident had closed I-70 eastbound traffic for an hour and a half.
