NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio- At The Perry County Fair there are a variety of food options to choose from.
Some may even frequent the fair just for the food specially. Some of the novelty food items are only available at the fair. The aroma of the food alone is enough to make you forget about your diet and dig in. Cotton candy, candy apples, popcorn, and corn dogs some say are some of their fair favorites. Carousels Concessions employee Sable Estep shared with us her favorite item on their menu and also what she recommends.
“Definitely the marshmallow treats because they are inexpensive,” Estep said. “They are only a $1.50. It’s awesome because the little kids who come up gets to try [them]. It’s really good. It taste good.”
One of Carousels Concessions fan favorite is their hand dipped corn dog. First the hot-dog is patted down and dried then dipped into their special batter. Then it is placed into hot “grease” and fried until it’s golden brown.
“If there’s not grease somewhere around, it’s not fair food. I think it’s just American honestly. Everyone loves greasy foods. It’s a type of comfort food,” Estep said.
Saturday, July 23rd is the last day for the Perry County Fair.
