Philo Withdraws from Playoffs

The Philo Electrics Football team won’t be participating in the post season this year.

At 5-5 the 14 seed Electrics were slated to travel to Bishop Hartley on Friday night to take on the 3 seed 8-2 Hawks. However, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced on their X account Tuesday that the game was cancelled.

The OHSAA cited the reason as illness within the Electrics football team. They also announced that because Philo cancelled Hartley will now advance to Week 12 in Division V Region 15.

Since 2010 Bishop Hartley has won three state championships in football. They were back to back winners in 2015 and 2016.
