Perry Co. Man Arrested

Perry Co.-The Perry County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Donald A. Hamer.

Authorities said on November 8, they were called to the area of Peoples State Bank in Junction City to a report of a man acting aggressively toward people and property.

The Sheriff’s Department said it was reported that Hamer had threatened and assaulted people and at times struck vehicles with a large machete. Deputies said he failed to comply with verbal command was was eventually taken into custody by deputies with the assistance of bystanders.

Deputies said Hamer was taken to Genesis Medical Center in Somerset and was medically cleared was transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.

He’s been charged with disorderly conduct, three counts of criminal damaging, five counts of aggravated menacing and resisting arrest. The case is pending in Perry County Municipal Court.
