ZANESVILLE, OH- The New American Songbook Holiday Concert with James Tormé is coming to put on a festive show for you at the Secrest Auditorium.

The performance is being hosted by the Zanesville Concert Association. For the last 84 years, their mission has been to bring world class musicians to this community at a bargain price.

“This Saturday, the 16th of December at Secrest, James Torme and his band will be offering a holiday concert and if you don’t know the name James, you will know probably Mel Torme, his father, who I know one song will be on the program is Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, so he grew up in a family where the big names would drop by just casually, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and so he has stories to tell about being the son of a famous performer,” said Jim McLaughlin, the booking agent for the Zanesville Concert Association.

You can expect to hear a wide variety of old and new holiday music with a jazz twist to them. The concert will be open to all ages and is a perfect event for the family.

“So, I’m hopeful families will come, we do not charge for children or college students that have a current ID, we only sell and market to the adults, and we encourage the season membership, because then you get a total of 10 concerts for the whole season for 65 dollars, which is a wonderful bargain,” said McLaughlin.

The New American Songbook Holiday Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7. For more information visit their website or their Facebook page.
