Troopers Find 56 Pounds of Marijuana
The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says it made a big marijuana bust this week on I-70. Troopers say they stopped a car with West Virginia license plates by the Hamline Bridge on Tuesday for a marked lanes violation at around 3:30 in the afternoon. Troopers say they noticed criminal indicators and called for the Patrol’s drug sniffing dog which lead to a probable cause search. Officers say they found 56 pounds of marijuana. Troopers say 65-year-old Clyde Minter of Benwood, West Virginia and passenger 36-year-old Ishmael Howard of Martins Ferry were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. If convicted each suspect could face 8 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
