OSU Football and New Year plans at The Barn

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The barn in Zanesville is jam packed with activity this weekend

The weekend literally kicks off with Ohio State football on Friday night. Owner Jim watson says all games will be on this weekend to see which college wins the championship.

The restaurant is expecting a high energy crowd.

“Especially when you can catch these great football games and get all of our football game day specials, as well as all this other great food we’ll have,” Watson said. “It’s going to be a great atmosphere. Game-like when you come down for the bowl games, especially for that Ohio State game on Friday night.”

The barn is also celebrating the new year on Sunday with a countdown of the best songs from the 2000s to 2023. That’s not the only fun planned for the weekend

The restaurant will have a pork and sauerkraut special all weekend, which Watson believes to have a special purpose.

“Pork and sauerkraut is supposed to start your new year off with good luck. So, a lot of people follow that tradition, and we’ve kind of kept that up as our special this weekend–or week of the new year,” Watson said.

The barn bus and other cab services will be running over the weekend so people can make it home safely.
