William J. “Bo” Haynes, 92, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (December 28, 2023) at his home.

He was born May 21, 1931 in Coshocton, son of the late William Haynes and Golda (Jenkins) Haynes.

Bo was a 1949 graduate of Byesville High School and the Ohio School of Banking at Ohio University. He worked for several banks in the Byesville area for 35 years, starting at Central National Bank and eventually retiring from Bank Ohio in Byesville and later Cambridge Savings.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Cleveland Browns.

Bo was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Byesville American Legion.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Haynes and Dana Haynes; and a sister, Helen Meighen.

Bo is survived by his wife, Betty (Rochester) Haynes, whom he married June 6, 1953; three sons, Timothy Haynes of Byesville, William J. “Gig” (& Debra Lynn) Haynes III of Cambridge, and Daniel Haynes of Senecaville; a daughter, Michelle (& Vaughn) Schneider of Cambridge; fourteen grandchildren, Sierra, Michael, Timmy, Jeremy, Kelly, Patricia, Sara, Melissa, Ryan, Mallory, Josh, Benjamin, Tyler, and Taylor; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (January 3, 2024) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.

Funeral services will be held at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, on Thursday (January 4, 2024) at 11 a.m. with Evan. Woody Biggs officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
