ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Commissioners, in collaboration with the Muskingum County Planning Commission and the Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority, are set to host three public meetings.

These sessions will aim to introduce zoning concepts, gather public input, and address questions related to zoning, the review process, and related topics.

“These are not meetings to shove zoning down anyone’s throat. That’s not our intent. We want to have open communication and see what the residents and the township trustees’ opinions are on this and their thought. We mean it as a positive thing, not a negative thing,” Muskingum County Commissioner, Cindy Cameron said.

The primary focus is on shaping zoning laws in townships such as Jackson, Cass, Jefferson, Licking, Muskingum, Hopewell, and Falls. These interactive sessions will allow residents to participate and provide their feedback.

“The Commissioners felt it was a way to open communication, so they could express their views, thoughts, and concerns. We have hired a firm to help us, and we’ve hired a company to help facilitate the meeting and some of the questions that we may not be certain of the answers,” Cameron said.

Each meeting will start at 6 pm and will cover the same information.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

  • January 9th, 2024 – 6:00pm Frazeysburg Elementary School (120 E 3rd St, Frazeysburg, OH 43822)
  • January 11th , 2024 – 6:00pm West Muskingum High School Auditorium (150 Kimes Rd, Zanesville, OH 43701)
  • January 29th, 2024 – 6:00pm Nashport Elementary School (3775 Creamery Rd, Nashport, OH 43830)
