Rambo Memorial Health Takes the Lead in New Year Resolutions with Smoking Cessation Program

ZANESVILLE, OH – The New Year for many means setting goals and resolutions.
Rambo Memorial Health is offering a course for those who have decided to give up smoking or vaping.
Rambo’s Smoking Cessation Program is an educational program that consists of six one-hour sessions for six weeks and it’s taught by a tobacco treatment specialist.
Shannon Bell, the Executive Director of Rambo, said there are statistics that show people are more likely to stop smoking or vaping when you go through a program like this.
“It’s not just about putting the cigarette down.” Bell said. “You’re talking about addiction, you’re talking about lifestyle changes so this whole program is designed to help you.”
Bell said they also offer nicotine replacement for those who attend at least two of the sessions.
She also said they offer this program due to the amount of respiratory illnesses in our area.
“Southeastern Ohio is already plagued with asthma, black lung, just so many respiratory conditions out there.” Bell said. “Why try to put smoking on top of that? Smoking is the #1 reason a patient will have respiratory problems.”
If you are interested in signing up for the Smoking Cessation Program, you can call Rambo Memorial Health at (740)-452-5401 to register.
