Wayne C. Eddleblute, 83, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday morning, January 6, 2024 at his home.
Born October 20, 1940 in Roseville, Ohio he was a son of the late Virgil and Ruby I. (Rowland) Eddleblute and was a 1958 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Following high school Wayne proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy from 1958 to 1962, serving aboard the USS Hector. He later received his bachelor’s degree in business from Ohio State University and a master’s degree from Troy State University. He retired in 1996 from the Newark Air Force Base after 34 years of service.
Wayne was a member and former Elder of Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg and was a member and secretary of the Newark Chapter of Gideons International. He was also a member of American Legion Post 399 of Dresden and Newark Chapter 310 of National Active and Retired Federal Employees where he served as Chaplain.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Catherine L. (Hanby) Eddleblute whom he married December 18, 1971; one son, John Wayne (Melissa) Eddleblute of Nashport; three daughters, Jane L. (Jeffery) Robison of Frazeysburg, Machelle L. (Rusty) Arnold and Marla (David) Jones, both of Newark; nine grandchildren Denton Eddleblute, Katelyn Eddleblute, Aarica (Andrew) Attix, Autumn (Christopher) Naff, Andrea (Justin) Reilly, Austin (Mariah) Robison, Quay Arnold, Kylene (Seth) Rine and Deven Jones and fourteen great grandchildren, Grayson and Eliana Attix, Scarlett, Lydia, Aliyah and Caleb Naff, James, Jaxon and Jaret Reilly, Hainslee and Dade Rine, Brayden, Summerlyn and Benson Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister in-law, James and Pauline Eddleblute and a sister, Sandra Sue Eddleblute.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822. Calling hours will also be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral services will be at NOON Friday, January 12, 2024 at Meadow View Church of Christ with Minister Gerald Moreland and Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Wayne will be laid to rest at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
