Bond Set for Assistant Band Director

A teacher facing charges of sexual battery goes before the court.

A hearing took place Tuesday for 32-year-old Anthony Miller, of Westerville. Newark Police said detectives arrested the teacher for having sexual relations with a student at Newark High School while working as an assistant band director .

In Licking County Court a judge set bond at $75,000. A preliminary hearing is set for March 6.

Miller was arrested at Carson Elementary by detectives and a Licking County Job and Family Services abuse investigator.
