Raymond Rupe

Raymond “Earl” Rupe, 74, of Zanesville, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on December 17, 1949, in Zanesville to the late Wade B. and Rosa (Ewing) Rupe. Earl was a jack of all trades and was excellent at doing any type of work with his hands. He was a former employee of Stewart-Glapat, where he spent a large amount of time working as a machinist. Earl could be found socializing at one of the many clubs he held membership with, tipping back a cold drink with comrades and friends alike. Among the memberships he held were with the Zanesville Moose, American Legion Post 29, Zanesville Eagles F.O.E #302 and the Zanesville VFW Post 1058. On the weekends and sometimes weekdays, you could find him glued to the nearest tv cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, or on a golf course or bowling alley participating in the very hobbies he loved. He is survived by his children, Clint Rupe, Chad (Mia) Rupe, Brad Rupe; grandchildren, Delilah, Hanna, Thomas and his newest great granddaughter, Freya, whom he was elated to meet; brother, Gary (Sue) Rupe; sisters, Margie (Robert) Wiseman, Karen (Bud) Wiggins, Barbara (Fred) Ferguson, Paula (Mark) Dusenberry; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents; brother, David “Randy” Rupe; sister, Rebecca King; several very special nephews and his daughter-in-law, Misty Rupe, that all preceded him. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 22, 2024, from 3pm – 6pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where memorial services will begin at 6pm with Pastor Marc Caton officiating.
