Clifford Thomas

Clifford E. Thomas, 71, 0f Zanesville, passed away at 8:19 a.m. Monday January 15, 2024 at Genesis Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1952 in Pomeroy, Ohio, a son of the late Clifford and Rose (Liggett) Thomas. He was a 1970 graduate of Maysville High School. He worked at Mid-Atlantic Canners and retired from Auto Zone Distribution Center. He was a member of the Life Way Church, where he served as janitor, usher, and board member. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, whom he married March 22, 1974, Orpha (Mills) Thomas. One son Darrin (Holly) Thomas. One daughter Stacey (Troy Touvell) Kern. Grandchildren Sasha (Tyler) Kirkbride, Blake Thomas, Brandon Kern, Emily (Jake) VanAllen, Nyah Thomas. Great-grandchildren Brantley, Piper, Braxton, and baby VanAllen due in August. Three brothers John Thomas, Timothy (Sharon) Thomas, and Randy (Becki) Thomas. A half-brother Jeff Bash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Marketta Bash Thomas. One brother Ted Thomas. An uncle Jeff Liggett. His grandparents John and Edith Liggett and Albert and Blanche Thomas. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday January 18, 2024 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 19, 2024 at the Life Way Church with Pastor Jim Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Fultonham Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Way Church Building Fund or to Newton Township Fire Department.
