Shirley Ault

Shirley E. Ault, of Crooksville, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, at the Oaks at Northpointe, at the age of 86. Born on November 16, 1937, in South Zanesville to the late Emory D. and Lucille (Goody) Ault. Shirley’s early years in Crooksville were the foundation of a life lived with zest and a deep sense of community. Her smile and warm heart made her a beloved figure in her hometown. After dedicating over a quarter of a century to serving tasty treats at Gem Ice Cream, Shirley also held employment with Cesco for over 25 years as a laborer. She was an exceptional diver, considered one of the most talented of her time. Her passion for swimming was not just a hobby but a testament to her love for life and the pursuit of excellence. Shirley is survived by her brother, Denny Ault, and her special nephew, Greg Ault, and his wife, Sherry. Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom Ault, Jerry Ault, and her sisters, Jenny Lee Ault, and Lula Wayne and her faithful fur companion, Lucy. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 26, 2024, in Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville has been entrusted to care for Ms. Ault.
