Salvation Army in Need of a Box Truck

ZANESVILLE, OH – As the Salvation Army continues to drive hope forward, they have announced that they are in need of a box truck.

With the addition of a new box truck with a lift gate, the Salvation Army can accelerate their efforts in canned food drives and picking up large donations and produce items. Their current vehicle, which has served for many years, is now showing its age and the time has come to retire it with honor.

“We wanted to let the community know that at this time we are in need of a box truck. Preferably a non CLD box truck. I would say 24 to 26 feet approximately. We’ve had a box truck for quite a while, it’s a 1991 box truck. It has been going down for quite a while. The transmission’s going out, it’s just really on its last leg and it’s just a matter of time before it doesn’t return,” Salvation Army Social Services Coordinator, Cari Shoop said.

If you or someone you know happens to have a box truck and is interested in fueling the mission of hope and support, please reach out to the Salvation Army.

“If someone might have a box truck that they’re not in need of anymore and would possibly want to donate it, we would love to have that. I know it’s kind of a big ask, but I know that this community’s very generous and we just wanted to let people know of that need we have in case they have something to help with,” Shoop said.
