Kisha Churchill
On the morning of February 2, 2024, our beloved Kisha Tolawma Churchill, age 50, of Zanesville, Ohio, was called to be with the Angels in Heaven. Kisha was preceded in death by her loving father, Herbert Alan Churchill, her paternal grandparents, Budwell and Della Churchill, her maternal grandfather, Clarke Felix, Step-Grandfather, Bernie Miller and Grandmother, Mary Coker Felix-Miller, and her nephew, Nezariah Rasheid Covington.
Kisha Tolawma Churchill is survived by her son, Anjomo “Boomer” Churchill and her daughter, Jessie Mae Mayle, her incredible mother, Darla Annette Churchill of Zanesville, Ohio, her sisters…. Anthonette Martin Covington, of Columbus, Ohio, Starla Churchill, of Columbus, Ohio, and Denise Hughes, of Massillon, Ohio. Kisha leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. We give special recognition to her favorite aunt, who she loved very much, Pie Felix, and Kisha’s special friend, Lowell Barger. Kisha will be missed by all.
There was no denying that unique laughter, even before you saw her face, you knew it was Kisha coming around the corner. She had a way of bringing joy into a room. She commanded attention… but in a loving way. Her smile and spirit were infectious. All that were lucky enough to get to know her…. were blessed for it. Kisha would give you the shirt off her back…literally! Kisha loved hard and family was important to her. She was a kid at heart. She loved to color…yes, I said color, as in coloring books, and she loved to roller skate. She was good, too. Kisha had a signature kiss… her puckered lips. Kisha was doing that years before it became commonplace on Instagram. And she was beautiful! Inside and out! Kisha enjoyed doing many things, but what she loved most was being a mother. It made her happy to be the mother of Boomer and Jessie.
Per Kisha’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. You may join the family for a memorial service on Friday, February 16, 2024, with services starting at 10am at The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 State St., in Zanesville. Pastor Elder Terrence Brown officiating. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
