William Bussey’s Next Challenge
Tuesday WHIZ reported that the superintendent of the Mid-East Career and Technology Center was leaving for another position.
William Bussey will take on State Director of Career-Technical Education at the Ohio Department of Education.
Tonight Bussey talked to us about his accomplishments the past 14 years, such as the big construction and renovation projects which will be completed this Fall, as well as the improved instruction in the classroom.
"I hope Mid-East will continue to improve," said Former Superintendent of Mid-East, William Bussey. "I would hope they are able to expand programs. There’s new jobs being created all the time and I’m hoping that mid-east along with other career centers can adapt and change programming to align with the jobs that are available in the workforce."
With the new position, Bussey also plans to work to ensure that every student will be college and career ready.
"There’s many jobs out there today that a student with some skills coming out of high school can go directly into the work force and make a very good living. Particularly in Eastern and South East and North East Ohio right now with the Oil and Gas Industry," said Bussey.
Bussey’s resignation takes effect August 1st.
