Hazel Butler

Hazel Marie Butler age 90, of Brilliant, OH passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at WVU Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. She was born October 14, 1933 in West Wheeling, OH a daughter of the late Walter L. and Alma Rhodes Bolen.

She had many hobbies, including baking, cooking, playing bingo, dancing, and playing all types of games. Hazel will be remembered as someone who loved to be around people, especially her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Carl B. Butler whom she married January 17, 1953 and who passed February 7, 1979; two sons Carl Gregory Butler and Walter “Butch” Butler; siblings Dorothy Tullius, Robert Bolen, Ethel Safigan, and Arthur Bolen.

Those left to cherish her memory, are her children Brenda Butler Wright of Florida, Bruce (Donna) Butler of Adena, OH, Brady (Mary Jo) Butler and Rachel Butler all of Florida; her late son Carl’s wife Mary Ann Butler of Shadyside, OH; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother Michael Bolen of Florida; sister-in-law Judy Bolen of Caldwell. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, February 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Monday, February 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Crooked Tree Cemetery, near Dexter City, OH.
