ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library System, in partnership with the Muskingum County OSU Extension Office, will be hosting a program to help people deal with grief.

The program is called “Who gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?” and it will be happening on Thursday, February 22nd from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the John McIntire Library.

Alexus Masterson, an Educator in Family and Consumer Science from the Extension Office, will be there to speak about handling your loved ones belongings after they’ve passed.

Skyler Tigner, an Adult Services Assistant Librarian, said they’re asking those who attend to bring in items they’ve received from loved ones.

“We encourage attendees to bring something along with them that they have inherited.” Tigner said. “That way they can speak about their experiences and we can share and learn through their experiences as well as what Alexus will have to say during the program.”

Tigner said the items must be safe and library appropriate.

She also said the program will equip those who attend with some important information.

“The program not only equips the community with valuable information for navigating such difficult times in their life.” Tigner said. “But it also brings us together to be able to have that conversation and to unite the community in that as well.”

Registration is required for “Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?”

To register you can head to the Library’s website on their events calendar.
