Gearing Up for Chamber Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce holds an event each year that celebrates local businesses and offers them an added opportunity to network.

Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber President Dana Matz discussed the importance of Chamber Week and how it has expanded beyond just an annual meeting.

“5-days of publicity,” Matz said. “So with local media and social media, we’ll be putting out a lot of information. We’ll have a coffee get-together for our members celebrating small business. We’ll have our annual meeting this year at the Eaglesticks Golf Course. We’re very excited about that. Our guest speaker will be Joshua Lozoff. I encourage you to go out and look up who Joshua Lozoff is.”

Matz noted that the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce wears many hats as it also includes the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Downtown Association, Muskingum Growth Partnership, Muskingum County Emerging Leaders and manages the safety council for the BWC.

“The Chamber is an organization of businesses,” Matz said. “Our job is to serve the business community. We’re very fortunate to have a strong Chamber of Commerce with over 700 members. And our membership varies greatly from the largest business in town to the smallest businesses, the one person operations. So we do advocacy, we’re conveners. Just this afternoon we’ll be meeting with local bankers to talk about supporting a project in our community.”

Chamber Week will take place between March 11th and 15th and you can learn more about it by visiting zmchamber.com.
