Bell Named ZAAP Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Spencer Bell has been named the ZAAP Gallery’s Artist of the Month.
Bell is a photographer as well as the Vice Director of the Zanesville Appalachian Art Project. His photos contain landscape scenes from different parts of Ohio, including Muskingum County. Bell said his family are the ones that helped foster his love for photography.
“One person is probably my uncle, he just had an interest for it,” Bell said. “I’ve always had an artistic mind and after I graduated high school I got more into it because I had some friends into it also. It just snowballed from there.”
Bell also provided some words of encouragement for budding photographers.
“Something I’ve learned about photography is, it doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have, it’s the person behind the camera,” Bell said. “You could have a camera that’s 100 years old or a camera that’s 20 years old, it’s just really about your perspective. The equipment doesn’t matter, you could have a disposable camera and still get great photographs.”
For the First Friday Art Walk, the ZAAP Gallery will have music, refreshments and a great atmosphere. They will be open from 5 to 8PM and they are located at 625 Main Street.
