Zanesville Man Sentenced in Rape Case

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–A Zanesville man appeared Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court for sentencing.

According to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office, 22-year-old Diallo J. Cummings went before Judge Mark C.  Fleegle where he received a sentence of at least eight years in prison for the felony crime of rape.

In December 2022 and January 2023,  Cummings sexually assaulted the victim. The victim disclosed the assaults to case workers at Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services, who notified law enforcement authorities.

In November 2023, Cummings pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
