ZDGA Golf Show

Golf Show

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Each year the Zanesville District Golf Association holds a golf show event that centers around raising funds for college scholarships.

ZDGA Board President Mike Durant talks about this weekend’s event that will announce this year’s scholarship winners and raise funds through contests and raffles.

“The ZDGA Golf Show is tomorrow at Zanesville Country Club. 1 O’clock to 3:30 and we have something for everybody. It’s a fun and games day. We’ll have spin boards, locker draw, door prizes, silent and live auction. We’re actually going to do a Facebook Live stream auction for an item, a big item. And we’ll have a merchandise sale. So you’ll get a great deal on discounted merchandise,” Durant said.

Several area golf courses will be represented at the event and over the years, the ZDGA has raised nearly $100,000 dollars in scholarship awards for area youth who share an enthusiasm for golfing.

“The inspiration for the golf show is to raise money for the kids,” Durant said. “To put on our tournament program but it evolved to scholarships. Awarding scholarships each year. We’ll award over $8,000 to at least seven kids… $8,000 totaling seven kids. So seven kids will be going off to college with scholarship money. Most of them, over a thousand dollars. And that’s the inspiration for what we do; the heart of what we do.”

The ZDGA Golf Show has created scholarships and lifelong friendships for nearly 30 years when it began at the K-of-C Hall until it moved to EagleSticks and now it’s at Zanesville Country Club.

Tickets are $5 dollars and children enter for free with a paid adult.
