Comedy Event to Raise Awareness for Alzheimer’s

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Alzheimer’s Disease is a form of dementia that people can develop as they age.

Oaks at Northpointe A/P Payroll Coordinator Kim Drabik announced an upcoming event that aims to spread Alzheimer’s awareness and draw support for those facing the disease.

“So we decided to hold this event every year,” Drabik said. “We try to raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness and every bit of money we raise goes to the Alzheimer’s Association. So we decided to do something fun this year, having a comedy show and we’re doing a chance auction where a lot of local community businesses have donated many items.”

The Oaks at Northpointe is a senior living facility that sees the increasing impact that the disease is making on not only the seniors but also their friends and loved ones.

Oaks at Northpointe Customer Service Representative Staci Barnett talked about what comedy goers can anticipate this Friday evening at Bryan Place.

“The doors open at 6 and the show starts at 8. There’s going to be food and beverages available for purchase. Everybody’s just going to gather and have a good time and watch a comedian. Laugh. So,” Barnett said.

Tickets for the March 22nd  comedy event at Bryan Place are $20 dollars and can be purchased at the door. The comedy content is aimed for adults 18 and up.
