Moreno Wins Primary

Associated Press- Trump-endorsed Cleveland businessman Bernie Moreno has won the Republican Senate primary in Ohio and will face vulnerable Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown this fall.

Moreno prevailed Tuesday over Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan. Former President Donald Trump stumped for Moreno three days ahead of his win.

Dolan was endorsed by Gov. Mike DeWine and former U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, two of Ohio’s most prominent establishment Republicans.

Brown’s seat is expected to be a top GOP target in the November general election. He is the lone Democrat holding a non-judicial statewide office in Ohio, a state that has moved steadily to the right during the Trump era.
