Sheridan Baseball, John Glenn Softball Enjoy Big Wins

NEW CONCORD, OH – It was a doubleheader on Tuesday between the Sheridan Generals and John Glenn Muskies, as the teams split the games.

On the baseball diamond, Sheridan ran wild, scoring early and often in the game. The Generals plated four runs in the first, four more in the second and seven in the third as they never looked back, winning it 17 to 3.

Caden Sheridan had a monster game, going four for five at the plate, with three doubles and a home run, driving in four runs to lead Sheridan. Coyle Withrow had a two for three day at the dish, driving in three with a double of his own.

Over on the softball diamond, it was a pitchers’ duel between the two schools, as both starters went the distance in the game, and the Muskies came out victorious, 2 to 1.

John Glenn’s Sydney Mitchell had a fantastic performance, throwing a no hitter and striking out eleven batters, and only surrendering a run following a second inning walk.

Her opposition on the mound was Ohio University commit Cora Hall, who allowed just two hits and had eleven strikeouts in six innings.

The Muskies scored twice in the fourth to take the lead which they would never relinquish.

The two teams do battle once more over in Thornville on Wednesday.
