TedMed Live 2014
The Health Department of Muskingum County began a series of educational talks Wednesday morning.
TedMed Live 2014 is being held at the John McIntire Library Auditorium. It is a live cast being held in 143 countries and from coast to coast. Community Health Planner Jody Stones says the event is meant to be an educational and inspiring one.
"It’s exciting speakers that are designed to make you think outside the box for health and medicine. It’s all about using your imagination, it’s about practitioners and research scientists. It’s very exciting."
Some of the topics discussed in the sessions so far include the spread of disease, breast feeding, and the driving forces in the medical community. Stones says they hope to see the attendance grow as more people become aware of the talks.
"Honestly if we have two people then we hope to inspire the community and I think it’s something that we’re doing live this year. We’ve had about four or five people per session so next year, you know, as people learn what its about we hope to offer it again and that it will spread."
There will be six more sessions total Thursday and Friday. The event is free, and you are encouraged to attend. You can find all of the times at the following website: www.zmchd.org
