Senior Saftey Day

Seniors, don’t forget, you can go get some valuable information about cars and safety at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors Thursday.

City and county law enforcement agencies will be at the event along with AAA to discuss car and driving safety. Rosemary Sherfy, program director at the center for seniors told us that seniors will also have the opportunity to get their cars checked at the event.

"The seniors bring their cars in, and Clever’s Towing will be here to help them check their battery levels, the levels in their radiator, tires, then we will check their mirrors on the sides of the car to see if they are set right for them, rearview mirrors, we check their settles."

Sherfy says that a favorite at the event is always the Zanesville Police k-9 Unit which will be giving demonstrations with the police dogs.

"They’ll be giving presentations in the morning, and looking at the cars in the morning. And the fire truck and some of those will be out there that you can tour."

The "Senior Saftey Day" runs from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Thursday and is open to all seniors. For a complete list of all the events going on this month you can contact the center for seniors.
